WEC News - June 29, 2020

Dressage Competitors and Friends,

It is with deepest regret that I must announce the cancellation of ALL remaining USDF/USEF dressage shows for the 2020 season at the Whidbey Equestrian Center. This decision was made after considerable thought and discussion surrounding the public health concerns related to the ongoing risks with the COVID pandemic. While this is a disappointing outcome, in consideration of the health and safety of our staff, competitors, volunteers and family, we have determined this to be the safest choice for all.

We felt it was important for us to make this decision at an early juncture, allowing those competitors hoping to compete in the 2020 USDF regional championships, sufficient time to develop their competition strategy. Keeping in mind the USDF “modified” 2020 qualifying requirements.

On behalf of the entire team at WEC, I want to express how much we will miss seeing you and the energy you bring to our facility during the show season.

The Lilo Fore Clinic in August and the October Schooling show will remain on the calendar for this fall. And, we are moving forward with our plans for the 2021 competition season and are looking forward to seeing you again next year.

Take care of yourselves and we wish you all a healthy and successful 2020.

Respectfully
Helen, Mari and Kathy
